Badimalika Temple Bajura in Nepal

 The Badimalika Temple Bajura are situated at about 4,000 ft above sea level overlooking the great Himalaya range and is the oldest and largest monastery in Nepal.

 The monastery was built between the 11th and 13th centuries.

 It is surrounded by beautiful sceneries and natural sights.

1. Badimalika Temple Bajura in Nepal

 The Badimalika Temple Bajiur means “the place where the sun rises” and this name was given to the temple due to its location at sunrise. This Hindu temple is located at the top of the world in the country named after the god Shiva. It is a Buddhist monastery located at an altitude of 11,300 feet above sea level.

 This Hindu temple sits atop a hillside close to Kathmandu and can be reached by taking a motorized rickshaw. Here, pilgrims come to the temple to offer flowers before their departure from Nepal.

 The stunningly beautiful Badimalika temple is located amidst the amazing hills of Kathmandu Valley in the Kathmandu district of Nepal. You can find the unique temple standing in the middle of the valley surrounded by small villages and terraces. This place holds a particular importance among Buddhists, Hindus, and followers of other religions. People flock to this place in large numbers especially during festival days. The holy place has many legends connected to it. According to these stories, the temple was built by King Pandavas after they were exiled out of heaven. They had wandered into this area searching for peace. They stayed here for thousands of years and then later founded their capital city of Hastinapur. There is another story associated with the construction of this temple which says that king Pratapaditya built this temple after he defeated the demons Ravana and his army in the battle field. He gave away his kingdom then and moved to this place to meditate and pray for a long life.

 3. Monastery

 Kathmandu Valley is rich with various Buddhist monasteries scattered throughout it. One of them is called Swayambhunath which literally means 'the monkey's nest'. Here you can get a glimpse into the past since it was established in the 6th century AD. As per the legend, the monastery is named after an ancient hermitage where the monkey god resides.

 The name "Bajura" means a hill that has a temple at its summit. The ancient civilization of Nepal was based on the Hindu religion, Buddhism and Jainism. The oldest temples are located in Kathmandu valley. But they are more in Bhaktapur and Patan. Most of them were built between 10th and 14th centuries AD. The Bajura temple is dated back to 1272-1275 AD. This temple belongs to Shakya dynasty. And this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva called Rameshwor Mahadeva. There are many inscriptions engraved in stone, which make it look beautiful among other temples in Nepal.

 2. Kailash Parbat

 Kailash Parbat, also known as Mount Kailasha, is the highest mountain in the world. Located in northern India, it is the abode of Lord Shiva. According to Hindu mythology, Mount Kailash is the residence of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Many rivers originate from here like Indus River, Brahmaputra River, Ganges River etc. It is believed that if you offer prayers to God Shiva then he would bless you with long life. So these places became holy pilgrimage site for Hindus since thousands of years.

 3. Machhapuchhre Base Camp Trek

 Machhapuchhre Base camp trek is the longest trek in the Everest region. After crossing several passes we can enjoy the view of Mt. Ama Dablam and Thamserku. We have overnight stay in Thrumshingla. Also known as sacred lake of Tibet where you can practice fish feeding.

It is located 2 km from the town of Bajura, near Rani Ghati village at a distance of 30 km north east of Kathmandu city in Nepal. The temple is situated on top of a small hillock, surrounded by lush green mountains.

 3. Lumbini

 This is regarded as birthplace of Buddha. It's a popular tourist destination amongst Hindus and Buddhists alike. It is believed to be the actual birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama who later became Buddha.
